Beetroot Raita


Hi guys, Summer has knocked the door, here we are coming with some great summer coolers. Healthy and nutritious Beetroot  Raita, a good company with lunch and dinner. Relish this tasty and healthy recipe and quench your taste buds.

Recipe Servings : 3-4

Recipe Cook Time : 15 mins


1 medium size beetroot

100 gms Yoghurt

1/4 tsp red chilli powder

1 tsp roasted cumin seeds powder

1 tsp oil

1 tsp mustard seeds

Black salt to taste

1 tbsp Sugar (optional)


Peel the beetroot and grate it with the help of fine grater.

Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan put mustard seeds into it, when it starts to crackle add grated beetroot a pinch of plain salt and 2 tbsp water, put the lid on and cook for 1-2 minutes. Let it cool at room temperature.

Blend yoghurt with a hand blender in a pan, make sure there are no lumps in it. Add chilli powder, cumin seeds powder, black salt and sugar (if preferred), mix it well.

Add grated beetroot and mix it properly. Refrigerate it for ½ an hour.

Garnish with a small prick of mint and cream and serve.
